SentinelOne Finds macOS Malware Built to Disrupt AI Analysis

SentinelOne's research arm SentinelLABS said on June 25, 2026 that it had discovered a new strain of macOS malware, "macOS.Gaslight (Gaslight)," designed to disrupt AI-assisted malware analysis tools, as detailed in its report. Written in Rust, the backdoor-and-infostealer sample embeds 38 fake system messages inside the binary and attempts to deceive LLM-assisted triage through prompt injection.
