An independent developer has combined Google's real-time voice API "Gemini Live" with Nous Research's open-source "Hermes Agent" to build IRIS, a hands-free AI assistant controlled by voice and gestures, released as a weekend project. The developer posted a demo on June 28, 2026 (JST); the roughly 89-second clip shows voice conversation and camera-based gesture control working in tandem.
