Members of the US actors' union SAG-AFTRA ratified a new four-year television, theatrical and streaming contract with AMPTP, the trade group representing major studios and streamers, in early June 2026. Approved by an overwhelming 91.42% margin, the deal curbs the unauthorized replication and replacement of performers' voices and likenesses by AI and writes into the contract a principle of prioritizing human performance.
