ClonEpub Turns EPUBs Into Voice-Cloned Audiobooks, Runs Locally on CPU

ClonEpub, a desktop app that converts EPUB e-books into audiobooks (M4B) narrated by a cloned voice, has been released. It runs locally without a GPU and can reproduce a speaker's voice from a 10-to-30-second sample. It was built by a digital nomad named Jarod, using Kyutai Labs' lightweight text-to-speech model Pocket TTS as its foundation, with Electron and Python. The source code is published on GitHub under the MIT license.
