xAI/SpaceX is developing "Grok 4.5," built on a 1.5-trillion-parameter V9 foundation model, and has offered it as a private beta inside SpaceX and Tesla since June 28, 2026. It integrates data from the AI code editor Cursor via supplemental training and is positioned to compete with Anthropic's Claude Opus and OpenAI's GPT-5.5, but as of July 7 there is no public release and no independent benchmark has been published.
