A Rust-based CLI tool called govctl, which turns AI-assisted development output into trackable artifacts such as RFCs, ADRs and Work Items and enforces review and phase gates, has been released. On July 3, 2026, govctl-org/govctl drew renewed attention within the developer community that regularly surfaces AI-agent repositories. Written by Gabriel Wu, it is positioned as "a governance harness for AI coding."
