OpenAI on June 24, 2026 unveiled Jalapeño, its first custom AI chip, co-developed with Broadcom. The accelerator is purpose-built for LLM inference, optimized from the ground up for the workloads behind ChatGPT, Codex, the API, and future agentic products.
