Meta on July 9, 2026 released "Muse Spark 1.1," a proprietary reasoning model built by Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL), and simultaneously launched a public preview of its developer-facing "Meta Model API." The upgrade over the first Muse Spark (announced April 8) substantially strengthens agentic capability and coding performance, reportedly showing a 43-point improvement over the prior generation on the software-engineering benchmark DeepSWE. The API is not yet available in the EU.
