On July 9, 2026, OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Work, a new feature that autonomously gathers information, plans, and executes tasks across apps and files from a single stated goal. On the desktop app (Mac/Windows) it became available immediately across all plans, including Free, on the same day, while Web/mobile roll out first to Pro/Enterprise/Edu and to Plus/Business within days. According to the announcement, it produces finished deliverables such as spreadsheets, documents, slides, and interactive Sites/web apps, aiming to advance complex projects on the scale of several hours.
