NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang used a two-day visit to Tokyo to announce what officials billed as the world's first national AI infrastructure, anchored by a 140-megawatt Vera Rubin AI factory built with a 44-company Japanese consortium. The July 15-16 trip capped a regional tour that also took Huang through Taiwan and South Korea, and it positioned Japan as a priority partner in NVIDIA's drive to supply the hardware behind "physical AI" — robots, factories and machines that operate in the real world.
