OpenAI has announced that it is turning its previous "Bio Bug Bounty" into an ongoing private program called the OpenAI Bio Bounty Program, doubling the top reward to $50,000, as part of its safeguards for advanced AI capabilities in biology. The program targets the company's frontier models, offering up to $50,000 to researchers who achieve a "universal jailbreak" — a single prompt that clears all of a set of predefined biosafety challenges. Partial successes may earn smaller discretionary rewards.
