The UC Berkeley School of Law has adopted a new policy that, starting in the summer 2026 term, will prohibit most student use of generative AI. The ban covers nearly the entire process of producing submitted work—from conceptualizing to drafting, editing and translating—as well as use during exams and the uploading of course materials to AI systems.
