Meta has withdrawn a feature of its new Muse Image generator that let users @-mention public Instagram accounts to spin their posts, Reels, and videos into AI-generated images, conceding just days after launch that the tool "missed the mark" amid a wave of privacy and consent objections. The reversal, disclosed on the company's own newsroom, removes the Instagram-referencing capability while leaving the underlying Muse Image model in service.
