Samsung Group is expected to announce a plan to invest 1,000 trillion won (about $648 billion) in South Korea over the next decade at a June 29 meeting with President Lee Jae Myung, according to several local reports. The plan reportedly centers on new chip plants and also covers AI data centers, batteries and displays. According to the report, which is based on coverage by outlets including Maeil Business Newspaper, the matter remains at the reporting stage, and Samsung and SK Hynix have declined to comment.
