Research firm Graphite reported that when AI search tools repeatedly reference AI-generated content, the diversity of their answers erodes—and across 1,528 simulations using multiple models, 79.6% converged on identical or near-identical responses. The phenomenon, dubbed "AI search collapse," highlights the risk of AI search drifting toward bland, easily manipulated output.
