US Commerce Dept halts foreign access to Anthropic's Fable 5 and Mythos 5

The US Commerce Department on June 12, 2026 issued an export-control directive requiring Anthropic to immediately suspend access to its latest AI models, "Claude Fable 5" and "Claude Mythos 5," for all foreign nationals inside and outside the United States. To comply, the company abruptly disabled access to both models for every user worldwide.
