Viper, a free red teaming platform that embeds a large language model agent for automated adversary simulation, is being positioned as an open-source alternative to costly commercial tools such as Cobalt Strike. Developed by an author known as FunnyWolf, the project combines more than 100 post-exploitation modules spanning the full MITRE ATT&CK framework with an integrated AI agent designed to support decision-making during security assessments.
