OpenAI said it has agreed to acquire Ona, a startup whose secure cloud-execution technology will be integrated into its software-engineering agent Codex. The technology is designed to let Codex take on longer-running background work even when laptops are closed, and to help organizations deploy agents securely in production. After the deal closes, the Ona team will join OpenAI's Codex team.
