Moonshot AI has introduced a Dynamically Loaded Tools capability in its Kimi API, letting applications inject tool definitions on demand during a conversation rather than declaring every tool up front in each request. The feature targets a common pain point for developers building tool-heavy AI applications: when dozens or hundreds of tools must be declared in the top-level tools field of every API call, each request carries the full descriptions and parameter schemas of all available tools, inflating token usage and increasing the odds that the model selects the wrong tool or produces invalid arguments.
