Amazon's Zoox Recalls Entire 105-Vehicle U.S. Robotaxi Fleet Over Smoke-Detection Flaw

Amazon-owned Zoox is issuing a software recall covering all 105 of its autonomous vehicles in the United States after one of its driverless robotaxis failed to properly recognize heavy smoke, drove into an active emergency scene, and risked interfering with first responders. The company reported the recall to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), disclosing the fix as it works to expand its purpose-built robotaxi service.
