TAR, a Texas-based energy infrastructure startup, has raised a $27 million seed round to power data centers with behind-the-meter systems combining solar, batteries and wind, bypassing the grid entirely. Led by co-founders Leonhard Soenke and Patrice Becker, the company claims it can sidestep lengthening grid connection delays and sharply cut the time it takes to bring a facility online.
