Apple is reportedly planning to skip its high-end "M6 Pro" and "M6 Max" Mac chips and jump directly to a next-generation, AI-focused "M7" family for its top-tier processors. According to a Bloomberg report, Apple will still ship a standard "M6" chip for entry-level Macs in 2026, but for high-performance variants it will bypass the intermediate generation and bring M7 Pro/M7 Max/M7 Ultra directly to market. The M7 generation is positioned as an "artificial intelligence-focused chip generation."
