Harvard Publishes Free ML Systems Engineering Textbook, Passing 25,000 GitHub Stars

Course materials from CS249r, led by Harvard professor Vijay Janapa Reddi, have been released as a fully free, open-source two-volume textbook titled "Machine Learning Systems," drawing more than 25,000 stars on GitHub. Amid ML education that tends to focus on model training, its emphasis on "systems engineering"—covering production deployment, scalability and hardware constraints—has attracted attention.
