OpenAI is working to extend Codex's Computer Use feature with direct control via official Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint add-ins, it has emerged. Settings under development reportedly include options such as "Let Codex use Microsoft Excel add-in for additional control" and "Let Codex use Microsoft PowerPoint add-in for additional control," pointing to more structured operation through Office add-ins on top of the existing Computer Use that relies on screen sharing, clicking and typing.
