On a sum-of-the-parts basis that values each of Microsoft's businesses separately and adds them up, the company's theoretical worth reaches roughly $3.8 trillion (about $500 a share), well above its current enterprise value, a new analysis argues. The gap reflects investor doubts about AI spending and the risk that AI disrupts existing software. The analysis reported by The Information, authored by Anita Ramaswamy, values segments such as Azure, cloud and productivity software individually before summing them to about $3.8 trillion.
