Moonshot AI, the Chinese startup behind the Kimi family, has released Kimi K3, a 2.8-trillion-parameter, natively multimodal model built for long-horizon coding and agentic workflows, with an open-weights version slated to follow. The model became available in mid-July through the company's consumer app and developer tooling, and an open-weights edition is scheduled for release on July 27.
