Meta staff burned 60 trillion-plus AI tokens in 30 days, report says

Meta employees consumed more than 60 trillion AI tokens in roughly 30 days, according to an unofficial internal ranking called "Claudeonomics" built by an engineer; the dashboard was shut down after the report. The trigger was an internal dashboard named after Anthropic's Claude model, which ranked the token consumption of more than 85,000 employees and highlighted the top 250, The Information reported. Top users were given titles such as "Token Legend," "Session Immortal" and "Cache Wizard," with the leading user consuming 281 billion tokens in a month. Neither CEO Zuckerberg nor CTO Bosworth made the top 250. After external sharing became an issue, the dashboard was shut down.
