Generative AI has incorporated the virtue ethics of the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle into its training material, making it a reference point in debates over how to design ethical AI. The fact that the latest large language models include in their training data the classic Nicomachean Ethics (4th century BC), which argued that a person of virtue does good, is drawing renewed attention.
