US Lifts Export Curbs on Anthropic's Fable 5; Model Returns With New Classifier

The Trump administration's Commerce Department lifted export controls it had imposed on Anthropic's frontier models "Claude Fable 5" and "Claude Mythos 5" on June 30, and Anthropic said it would redeploy Fable 5 globally starting July 1. The redeployed version embeds a new safety classifier that blocks the specific jailbreak techniques behind the foreign-use restrictions, saying it stops those techniques in more than 99% of cases.
