OpenAI announced on June 12 that it has added support for the Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP) to its software engineering agent Codex. Delivered as a "Developer mode for browser use" that expands the agent's browser capabilities, the update lets Codex directly inspect and manipulate the internal state of websites in Chrome and in Codex's in-app browser.
