US Lifts Export Curbs on Anthropic Frontier Models, Redeploys Them

Anthropic's frontier AI models, Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5, were redeployed by July 1 after about three weeks under US export controls. The models had gone offline globally on June 12, days after their release around June 9, when the US Commerce Department applied export controls that effectively barred access by foreign nationals and companies. According to Anthropic's announcement, Fable 5 returned globally on July 1, while the more advanced Mythos 5 resumed on a limited basis for organizations in the US taking part in Project Glasswing.
