EPFL and JHU Unveil NEvo, an AI Method That Generates Videos to Maximally Activate Chosen Brain Regions

A research team from Switzerland's EPFL and Johns Hopkins University released NEvo on July 2, 2026, a method that uses AI to generate videos optimized to selectively and maximally activate specific regions of the human visual cortex, published as an arXiv preprint. Its distinguishing feature is that it designs the stimuli through in silico search, without any actual brain measurement.
