A free, open-source tool called claude-screenshot-uploader has been released that automatically detects macOS screenshots, uploads them to a remote server over SSH, and places the file path on the clipboard. It aims to remove the friction of passing images to Anthropic's CLI development tool Claude Code when running remotely, and is distributed on GitHub.

Why it exists

As more developers run Claude Code over SSH — and continue local sessions from mobile via Remote Control — they couldn't paste Mac screenshots into a remote session. This tool replaces manual scp/rsync and base64 workarounds with a background launchd service, an xbar status icon, and a single ./setup.sh install.
