Voicebox, a free and open-source desktop application that clones a voice from a few seconds of audio and runs entirely on the user's machine, is drawing growing attention from developers as a local alternative to cloud voice-generation services. Built by Jamie Pine, creator of the Spacedrive file manager, the tool combines voice cloning, speech generation, dictation and AI-agent audio output in a single MIT-licensed package.
