Meta Launches Muse Image, Its First Image Model, in Meta AI

On July 7, 2026, Meta introduced Muse Image, the first image generation model built by its new Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL), and made it immediately available in Meta AI (meta.ai and the apps). The model features understanding of complex prompts, blending of multiple reference images, and direct editing via sketches and annotations, with a phased rollout to Instagram Stories and WhatsApp. The official announcement says availability for Facebook/Messenger and advertisers via Advantage+ creative is coming soon, and it also previewed Muse Video, which shares the same pretraining base and supports native audio.
