OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Work, a new agentic experience built on its GPT-5.6 family of models that lets users hand off complex, multi-step tasks—having the app gather context, plan, and execute across files, browsers and a virtual computer to produce finished documents, slides, spreadsheets and websites. The company positioned the release as a shift from short conversational exchanges toward long-horizon work that can be delegated to an AI agent.
