The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) announced on June 22, 2026 that they have awarded a contract to Boston-based AI startup Air Space Intelligence (ASI) to develop AI technologies for managing flight traffic. The contract is valued at $875 million over roughly 12 years, with ASI prevailing over larger rivals Palantir Technologies and Thales SA.
