OpenAI has released its first piece of self-branded hardware — not a phone or a wearable, but a $230 desktop keypad designed to help developers manage swarms of AI coding agents. The device, called Codex Micro, opened for orders on July 15, 2026, as a limited-edition collaboration with accessory maker Work Louder, sold only while supplies last.
