A free chatbot from France's Mistral AI, known as Le Chat, repeated false claims tied to state-backed Iran war disinformation in up to more than half of tests, according to an audit by the rating firm NewsGuard. The finding exposes a weakness in filtering Russian and other state-linked disinformation in models from a company positioned as Europe's "AI champion."
