SpaceXAI Launches Grok 4.5, Free to Try in Cursor and Build CLI

SpaceXAI (formerly xAI) formally released Grok 4.5, its latest model tuned for coding and agentic tasks, on July 8, 2026, and opened a limited-time free trial through the Cursor AI code editor and the terminal-based agent Grok Build CLI. Developed in a joint training effort with Cursor, the model is available immediately across all Cursor plans, as the default model in Grok Build, and via the SpaceXAI Console/API. According to the official announcement, Cursor is also running a campaign that doubles first-week usage. The model is not yet available in the EU, with a rollout planned for mid-July.
