Apple has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and two of its own former employees, accusing the AI company of orchestrating a coordinated campaign to steal hardware trade secrets and use them to develop consumer devices. The complaint, lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on or around July 10, 2026, threatens to complicate OpenAI's first hardware launch and its confidential plans to go public.
