According to a Bloomberg article and the official YouTube video released on June 24, 2026, Doudna responded to the question of whether AI will cure cancer by saying that scientific breakthroughs still require human ingenuity and a great deal of hard work, adding that in her own lab she has not seen chatbot-style AI independently generate innovation.
