xAI has released its terminal-based coding agent Grok Build — including its CLI and harness — as fully open source under the Apache 2.0 license, days after security researchers flagged that the tool had been silently uploading entire code repositories to cloud storage. The company published the project at xai-org/grok-build on GitHub and simultaneously reset usage limits for all users, according to its official open-source page.
