Google has shipped the stable v1.0 release of its Chrome DevTools MCP server, a tool that lets AI coding agents connect directly to a live Chrome instance to inspect, debug and audit web applications the way a developer would in DevTools. The release, announced on May 19, 2026, follows a public preview that first appeared in September 2025 under the name "Chrome DevTools for agents."
