US Lifts Export Controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5; Access Returns July 1

Anthropic said on the night of June 30, 2026 (US time) that it had received notice the US Department of Commerce had lifted the export controls imposed on Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5, and that it would begin restoring access on July 1. The move brings the models back after roughly three weeks offline. The lifting had been flagged in advance and was formally confirmed in Anthropic's statement.
