On July 8, 2026, Google announced and began rolling out Video Remix, a new feature in its Google Photos app that uses AI to transform and edit existing video clips. The tool lets users create stylized, shareable clips in a few taps and is built on Gemini Omni, Google's latest multimodal generative AI model. According to the official blog, it supports transformations such as Cinematic relighting to improve poorly lit clips, Background swaps to replace backdrops, and Artistic treatments that apply effects like watercolor, raw sketchbook and oil painting.
