Anthropic opens Claude Managed Agents in beta to host production agents

Anthropic launched Claude Managed Agents as a public beta on April 8, 2026, a managed execution layer that takes over the burdens of running agents in production, including credential management, sandboxing and observability. Its Applied AI team later published a blog post, "The evolution of agentic surfaces," explaining why teams adopt it in production and how it offloads agent infrastructure that developers previously had to build and operate themselves.
