Tesla has told employees it will cap spending on third-party AI tools at $200 per week, with the policy taking effect on July 6, 2026. The move follows heavy usage by some software engineers who were spending thousands of dollars per week in tokens, and is aimed at reining in costs. According to a report by The Information, usage above the cap will require manager approval.
