Tabularis, an open-source desktop SQL client, lets AI coding tools such as Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf access live databases safely through its built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. It supports more than 16 databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and SQLite (with plugins), and is released as free software under the Apache 2.0 license. The GitHub repository (TabularisDB/tabularis) has already gathered around 3,600 stars, with roughly 50 contributors involved.
