Suspected China-linked operators used open-source AI agents to run a largely autonomous cyber intrusion against Taiwanese government systems, in what researchers describe as a first-of-its-kind end-to-end automated attack on a government target. The campaign, first detailed in reporting based on findings by Israeli firm Dream, deployed multi-agent tooling that mapped systems, hunted vulnerabilities and shifted tactics with little continuous human direction.
